Covering everything from designing a celebration cake and baking a light, even sponge, right through to covering with sugarpaste and creating adorable icing decorations, my school holiday ‘playscheme’ sessions give children the chance to get stuck into some serious cake art – and produce an incredible cake to take home and share with their families at the end of the week.

During this year’s summer schemes, we’ll be travelling the world – and even further afield. This week’s theme is Lunar Explorers and we’ll be blasting off into some fabulous cake art.

 

During this week-long, face-to-face cake decorating course, your child will have the opportunity to:

– Design their own cake within the theme of LUNAR EXPLORERS.

– Bake a delicious vanilla cake for decorating.

– Fill their cake with a tasty raspberry jam and a vanilla buttercream – both of which we will make together!

– Crumb coat their cake to keep things tidy and clean.

– Cover their cake in sugarpaste.

– Create adorable cake toppers using icing and modelling pastes.

– Decorate their cake using cutters, moulds and handmade decorations.

 

Everything they need to create their custom cakes will be provided for them and they will also receive a handy instruction pack, including all of the advice and tips they will need to recreate their cakes again at home.

The class will be held at my dedicated Cooking, Baking and Cake Decorating Academy in the picturesque town of Fareham, Hampshire, conveniently located between Southampton and Portsmouth. Limited parking is available on site however, this will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Holiday ‘playschemes’ will run from Tuesday to Friday (10:00am-12:00pm) unless stated otherwise. Please be sure which sessions you are choosing and that you will be able to attend all of the planned sessions before finalising your purchase.

Mr Baker is fully insured, DBS checked and first aid trained, including in paediatric first aid. If you would like to arrange a separate pre-visit to Mr Baker’s Cake School ahead of your child’s class to meet Mr Baker and see the school itself, simply let us know at the time of booking.

 

Mr Baker’s Cake School is located in the Kiln Acre Business Centre in the town of Fareham, close to the M27 motorway. If driving to your class, exit at junction 11 towards Fareham Central. At the roundabout, take the exit onto the A27 towards Fareham before bearing left towards Portchester, Wickham and Fareham Town Centre. At the Delme Roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Wallington Way before crossing the roundabout (first exit) outside Sainsbury’s. At the Wickham Road Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Wickham Road and the Kiln Acre Business Centre will be on your left in around 500yds.
